Haworthia Cooperi (Mini) is a small, clump-forming succulent known for its swollen leaves with clear, window-like tips. These translucent ends catch and soften the light, giving each rosette a jewel-like look that stands out from more typical spiny or waxy succulents.

The rosettes stay compact and low, and over time they slowly produce offsets around the base. What begins as a single plant can gradually become a dense cluster, which is part of what makes it so effective in small pots, windowsills, and shelf displays.

Its structure also explains its growing character. This is not a succulent that wants harsh, all-day sun and heavy drying heat. It prefers bright but gentler conditions, sharp drainage, and enough restraint with watering to keep the roots healthy and the rosettes firm.

How to Care for Haworthia Cooperi (Mini)

Watering

Treat it as a low-water succulent. Let the soil dry out completely, then water thoroughly until excess drains from the pot.

Never leave the pot standing in water. In brighter, warmer conditions, watering may be needed every couple of weeks, while in cooler or lower-light periods the interval should be longer.

Firm leaves with slight wrinkling usually mean it is ready for water. Soft, overly translucent, or blackening leaves usually point to overwatering and possible rot.

Sunlight

Provide bright, indirect light or gentle morning sun. An east-facing window, or a spot set slightly back from a stronger south or west exposure, usually works well.

It tolerates more shade than many succulents, but very low light causes the rosettes to stretch and lose their compact form. Harsh midday sun through glass can scorch the clear leaf tips and leave dry, pale patches.

Temperature

Moderate, stable warmth around 64–77°F (18–25°C) suits this plant best. Typical indoor temperatures are usually fine.

It can handle slightly cooler nights if the soil stays dry, but frost and near-freezing conditions are risky, especially in wet mix. Avoid sudden temperature swings from heaters, radiators, or cold drafty windows.

Humidity

Low to average household humidity is ideal. Haworthia Cooperi does not need misting or added humidity.

Problems usually begin when high humidity combines with excess moisture in the soil and poor airflow. Normal indoor dryness is usually a good match.

Soil

Use a very fast-draining succulent mix with a loose, gritty structure. A cactus soil improved with pumice, perlite, coarse sand, or fine gravel works well.

The goal is a root zone that dries quickly and stays airy rather than dense and moisture-retentive. Always use a pot with drainage holes, and avoid oversized containers that keep too much unused soil damp.

Growth & Propagation

Growth is slow to moderate, and frequent repotting is usually unnecessary. Over time, the plant produces offsets around the base, gradually forming a fuller clump.

These pups can be separated once they have their own roots, or left in place to fill the pot. When repotting, move up only one pot size at a time so the mix can still dry at a healthy rate.
