How to Care for Ruby Necklace

Watering

Keep watering low. Let the potting mix dry out completely, then water thoroughly and allow all excess moisture to drain away.

Ruby Necklace handles short dry periods much better than constant moisture. Frequent watering or a slow-draining mix can cause soft leaves, collapsing stems, and root rot.

In brighter warmer periods, Ruby Necklace may need water a little more often, but only when the mix is truly dry. In winter or in lower light, extend the interval and keep conditions drier. Slightly less firm or faintly wrinkled leaves are often the safest sign that it is ready for a deep watering.

Sunlight

Provide full sun for the strongest color and the most compact growth. A sunny window or another very bright position usually suits Ruby Necklace best.

Outdoors, introduce direct sun gradually so the plant can adjust without scorching. In lower light, Ruby Necklace often stretches and stays greener, so stronger light is usually the first thing to improve if the ruby tones are fading.
