This Privacy Policy explains what information Plantgeh collects when you use the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Plantgeh, you agree to the practices described here.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Plantgeh website and the plant guides and problem-solving pages it offers. Plantgeh is responsible for the information described here. If you have questions, you can reach Plantgeh through the Contact page.

Information Plantgeh collects

When you browse Plantgeh, it collects limited technical information such as your device type, browser, approximate location (from your IP address), the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. If you contact Plantgeh through a form, it also collects the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and message.

Where only a comparison is needed—telling that two visits came from the same connection—a one-way fingerprint is used in place of your IP address itself. Your IP address is also recorded with the site’s security logs, which are deleted after 90 days.

To understand how the site is used overall, Plantgeh also keeps privacy-friendly visitor statistics—such as page views, visit counts, and the sites visitors arrive from. These statistics are collected without cookies, are aggregated, and are stored on Plantgeh’s own systems rather than shared with third parties.

Plantgeh also counts how many people have read each page, so that listings can be ordered by what is read most. Only the total is kept, against the page: there is no record of what any individual has read. So that the same reader is not counted twice, your browser keeps a brief note of what it has already counted, and the site remembers a fingerprint of your connection for 24 hours.

How Plantgeh uses information

Plantgeh uses the information described above to operate and secure the site, to understand how its content is used so it can be improved, to respond to your messages, and—where you allow it—to support advertising. Plantgeh does not sell your personal information.

Spam protection

To keep its forms free of spam and automated abuse, Plantgeh uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It runs only on the pages that carry a form, such as the contact page, and checks technical signals from your browser, including your IP address and device details, which are processed by Cloudflare for that purpose. Turnstile sets no advertising cookies and is not used to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for details.

Cookies and advertising

Plantgeh uses cookies and similar technologies to run the site, remember your preferences, and—where you allow it—to support advertising. Where the law requires it, Plantgeh asks for your consent before non-essential and advertising cookies are used, and you can change or withdraw your choices at any time. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Plantgeh or to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Plantgeh and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of the use of cookies for personalised advertising by some third-party vendors at optout.aboutads.info (in Europe, Your Online Choices).

How your choice is collected depends on where you are. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a Google-certified consent message asks for your explicit permission before advertising or other non-essential cookies are used; it lists the advertising partners the data may be shared with, including Google, and you can accept, refuse, or manage the options in detail. In US states with applicable privacy laws, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Everywhere else, Plantgeh’s own cookie banner asks for your choice. In every case you can change or withdraw your choice later, and refusing does not stop you from using the site.

How information is shared

Plantgeh shares information only with service providers that help run the site (such as hosting, security, spam protection, email delivery, and analytics) and with the advertising partners described above, each of which may use it only as needed for those purposes. Plantgeh may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the site and its users.

Data retention

Plantgeh keeps information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, and then deletes or anonymizes it. In practice, security logs and the IP addresses in them are deleted after 90 days; messages you send through the contact form are kept while they are being dealt with and for a reasonable period afterwards; and page view counts are kept for as long as the page exists and are not linked to a person.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. To make a request, contact Plantgeh through the Contact page.

Children

Plantgeh is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old (or older if your country requires it) to use the site, and Plantgeh does not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact Plantgeh so it can be removed.

Security

Plantgeh takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

International transfers

Plantgeh’s providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where this happens, Plantgeh takes steps to keep your information protected in line with this policy.

Changes to this policy

Plantgeh may update this policy from time to time. The “Updated” date shown above reflects the latest version, and significant changes will be made clear on this page.
